Fátima Amorim (Manuel's wife) has taken up a project of making Arraiolos point carpets and wall panels in Mozambique. For two years now, she had produced several of these rughs, hand made with pure wools, in the worldwide famous point of Arraiolos, also known as Portuguese needlepoint.
This Point has been a tradition for centuries and has claimed a name for a small southern Portuguese village (Arraiolos), in the world of hand made Embroidery. Originally it is a Moore heritage from the times Southern Portugal was occupied by northern African Moores.

Shortly after the carpets own show at the COA American Convention where they made a tremendous success, mostly due to Jean Pisor (Proud owner of "Tibias & Mussels"), Fatima Amorim has consented to the openning of this web page. In Fact, nothing else could be expected, not only after the disputing of "Milneedwarsi", "Tibias & Mussels" in Mobile, but also because of the inumerous orders received, i.e. "Diving Helmet" for Bruno de Bruin, a Botticelli Birht of Venus for a Collector that, insists on remaining anonymous, and several other motives in sizes requested.
We Are able to Quote the carpet of your dreams, in the size that fits your place, but please understand that the waiting time on a firm order, for an exclusive carpet stands now at 3 months, first come, first serve. |
